Followback Watchdog — Privacy Notice

Updated: October 3, 2026

Information we process

Followback Watchdog offers Community Blocklist and Personal Account modes. When you start a Community Blocklist task, the extension visits X (x.com) user pages to identify action controls, block selected accounts, and check the result. When you choose Start Scan in Personal Account mode, the extension reads the signed-in account's profile, Following list and Followers list to identify accounts you currently follow that do not follow you back.

Personal Account mode does not track historical changes or determine who recently unfollowed you. The extension does not read, request or save your X password, authentication cookies, private messages or post contents.

Local storage

Browser local storage holds task progress, target accounts, action results, personal scan status, follow-list pagination checkpoints (cursors), and the last-opened screen so that scans and tasks can resume when the panel closes or the browser suspends a background process. Pagination cursors are used only to continue reading X lists from a saved position. Authorization, Cookie and CSRF request headers are not saved in local scan records. During a scan, Following and Followers records are temporarily stored to support checkpoint recovery. Once the scan completes, those full temporary lists are deleted; only data needed for the result, such as account name, statistics and the non-follower candidate list, remain. These records are stored on your own device and can be removed by uninstalling the extension or clearing its data.

Data transfer and community sharing

The shared community blocklist combines bundled records with user-submitted entries reviewed by an administrator. At certain cooldown points, the extension may ask whether you want to share the accounts you successfully blocked or unfollowed in the current task. Even short tasks may offer this choice at least once. Only when you explicitly select Submit All will successfully processed X usernames from that task be submitted. A random locally generated anonymous identifier is submitted to help prevent duplicates; it is not your X account and cannot be used to sign in. Submitted entries are reviewed before appearing on the public community list.

Administrators review submissions against public information. The extension does not submit your own X username, password, cookies, private messages or post contents. It does not upload results that you have not opted to submit.

Why permissions are needed

You're in control

The extension does not start scans, blocks, unfollows or community submissions automatically. A personal scan starts only after you choose Start Scan. When complete, it displays a selectable list for review. Blocking and unfollowing require account selection and a separate confirmation, and operate in paced batches. Community submission requires an explicit choice; users only see entries that administrators have approved, and each user decides whether to initiate batch blocking.

Limited use

Information obtained through browser permissions will be used in accordance with applicable browser store user-data and limited-use requirements, solely for the features described in this notice.

Optional sponsorship estimate

During cooldowns or after task completion, the extension may show an optional link to estimate the advertising value of an X post. The destination is jiedanfadan.com/en/value-check. Opening it requires a user click. Your X account details, personal scan results, processing results and task logs are not automatically transmitted to that website. The link contains only fixed campaign-source parameters. The linked rate calculator is available in English.
